Semis Await Leckpatrick Minors
Fixture: Owen Roes v Omagh B
Score: 2.15 v 2.06
On a wet and windy evening, the minors played their first match on the new turf of Glenmornan.
It was Omagh who came out fast and furious however and quickly knocked over two points before the home side had a chance to settle. Ryan McShane got on the scoreboard from a free before Omagh rattled the net having broke free from the half back line. The Roes were only getting started as Ryan again pointed from a free. But Omagh broke from the score and netted again.
That was to be the end of their scoring in the first half as the Roes boys notched up the pace and Kyle Barr slotted past the keeper on the second attempt, after the first was well saved.
Half Time 1-08 to 2-02
This time it was the Roes who started the quickest adding to the tally from Stephen and Ryan, but Omagh were still there putting on pressure as they added on a few points. Jason got a goal then to put distance between the sides and from there the boys added on to finish 9 points clear.
This was a great game of determination from the Roes, the defenders watched the ball well and ensured that Omagh were kept as low scoring as possible as the forwards worked hard to earn the ball and score.
They now await the semi finals.
