Development News

For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.

Anyone that has been away from Glenmornan for some time would be get a pleasant surprise if they came into the village via the Gorticrum Road (Or any road that passes the pitch). Two years ago the trip down that Gorticrum Road, that spirals it's way down from the heights of Holyhill would have given visitors a view of Pairc an Ghleanna that had one well used pitch and accompanying social rooms.

Anyone passing the pitch now though can’t help but notice the impressive redevelopment work that has left Leckpatrick gaels with two top class playing fields, excellent floodlights, a community hall, social and changing rooms and more plans afoot.

The development of the club’s facilities in Glenmornan started back in 1987 with the relocation of the Club to the current grounds at Pairc and Ghleanna. This was supplemented in 1998 with the opening of the clubrooms, dressing rooms and social centre.

However as the title suggests the work goes on and we believe that the members of Owen Roes deserve more. So after a brief pat on the back it's time to move on again.

With some remedial work required, and a desire to get ready for the next phase of development the Club have recently launched a grand draw to position them on a sound financial footing for the next phase of development. The total prize pot for the draw stands at £64,000, with the overall grand draw winner earning £40,000. Tickets are now on sale priced at £100 with an 'pay in' option available. Anyone that requires tickets can do so by contacting a member of the Club (Joe Hegarty 07712668329, Sarah Jane Kelly 07753591175, or Galvin Early 028 71398398).
