What was effectively an Owen Roes under 21 side lost out to Newtownstewart in this Wednesday night reserve game with only Kevin Dooher and Sean og Devine exceeded the 21 bracket. Despite their inexperience Owen Roes should've picked up something from a game where they bossed the second half but over elaboration in the final third saw them squander their chances.

A fine Marcus McGinley save, and a brilliant individual score from Davy Harte were the highlights of the opening thirty minutes, as Newtown led 1-4 to 0-3. Conor McCay tagging on the other two Owen Roes scores.

McCay twice, Aaron Lynch and Ronan Parker were the second half Owen Roes scorers as they pressed hard for a late leveler. However with a minute to go Newtown broke and capitalized on poor Owen Roes defending to bag a goal that clinched the spoils.
