Roe's Reserves Just Shy

Drumragh 0-8 Owen Roes 0-7

The Owen Roes’ second string fell just a point short on Friday evening as they travelled to Drumragh. With most of the side upgraded to senior duties it was very much an under strength side that took to the field.

Conor McCay was in range early on and his three first half scores, coupled with John Harper’s point sent the visitors 0-7 to 0-4 down at the interval. Charlie McLaughlin making a good double save earlier in the game.

McCay got another score as the second half started, after Sean Mor Devine had made a good stop. Devine replacing McLaughlin for the second period in nets. Indeed McLaughlin put his side within a point as Drumragh stuck a lot of wides.

Dermot McMenamin put Owen Roes level late on, but Drumragh were not to be denied and clipped a late winner to deny the Owen Roe's youngsters.
