Clogher Shake off Roe's Seconds
Clogher 1-9 Owen Roes 0-9
Owen Roes second string fell just short
of picking up some hard earned points on their travels to Clogher on Sunday. It
was the hosts that sprang first from the traps establishing a 0-3 to no score
lead, with Conor Friel making a neat save in the visiting goal to boot.
A Marcus McGinley 45, and a Charlie McLaughlin point got the visitors on the board, before the Eire Ogs sprang another treble blitz. A John Harper dead ball ended the half.
HalfTime - 0-6 to 0-3
Conor McCay knocked one over to reduce the deficit but in truth the Leckpatrick side couldn't just plug that gap, and the hosts firmly put the tie to bed with an unanswered 1-4.
The visitors kept battling though, and Rory Devine, and another Harper free added to their tally. A pair of McCay frees either side of a McLaughlin effort put pressure on the hosts but it was just not enough.
