YOUTH FOOTBALL

 

This year's football season will commence on March 3rd with the U16 boys opening their season. The seniors and reserves get going next on 1st April, with the minors starting 3 days later on 4th April. It'll be May 16th before the U14s get going, with the Feile opening on 14th April. Still no word on ladies start dates.

This year's provisional gradings see Owen Roes hold a grade one team for the first time in several years, as the U14s take part in grade 1B with Carrickmore, Cappagh, Dromore, Omagh and Errigal Ciaran.

Meanwhile the U16s take the step to grade two to face Dromore, Newtownstewart, Trillick, Loughmacrory, and Gael Naomh Phadraig.

Beragh, Pomeroy, Newtownstewart, Greecastle, Fintona, Aghyaran and Tattyreagh will be the minor sides opposition in grade two.

In ladies football the U14 girls show the improvement in ladies football at Owen Roes as they step up a grade to 3B to take on Pomeroy, Clonoe, Newtown and Badoney.

 

Owen Roes will continue their ‘Grab a ball, have a ball’ initiative every Tuesday fof the next few weeks. ‘Grab a ball, have a ball’ is a fun initiative aimed at primary school children. P1 to P3 training will be from 6.00pm til 6.45pm, and P4 to P7 training will be from 6.45pm til 7.30pm. All classes to take place in Glenmornan community Hall. Everyone welcome.

The youth training will be followed at 7.30pm by ladies fitness classes. Again everyone welcome!

Circuit training for underage players will take place every Monday from 7pm to 8pm. Training open to all players from 14 to 18.

 

SENIOR FOOTBALL

The Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Gerard Porter as the Club's new senior/ reserve manager. Assisting Gerard will be Mickey Dooher and Paul Phillips. We wish the boys well in 2012.

Circut training for all senior and reserve players will commence in Glenmornan Hall from this Friday night at 8pm. All players interested in representing the Club in 2012 are asked to attend.

The Owen Roes ladies will play in Junior B this season and their opponents will be Stewartstown, Rock, Urney, Edendork, Kildress and Badoney.

 

THE JIG FACTOR

St.Pat's Hall Strabane will be the place to be on Friday 24th February as Owen Roes host 'The Jig Factor'. 14 dancers will take to the stage aiming to win the crown.

Tickets are now on sale priced at £10 and can be obtained from Sarah Jane Kelly, Joe Hegarty, Galvin Early, Mark McGonigle or from the Clubrooms.

 

CLUB DEVELOPMENT DRAW

All ticket sellers are asked to get all ticket returns back to their co-ordinators as soon as possible. The first of the monthly draws is scheduled for late January.

Anyone who requires more tickets should contact a member of the committee as soon as possible.

First prize in the draw is £40,000 with a total prize fund of £64,000! All members are asked to promote the draw as best as possible.

SOCIAL

The punter’s club collection for 2012 has recommenced. Anyone keen to join should go to the Club next Tuesday. The weekly contribution is £5.

 

LOTTO

Lotto numbers can be viewed HERE.

All members are encouraged to promote the club lotto as it’s a vital source of funding for the club. Envelopes can be left in the clubrooms or in Caldwell’s ‘The Glen Shop’.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is now due for 2012 and must be paid to club registrar Marie Harper as soon as possible.

Full Membership (Single) - £25 (5 payments of £5), Full Membership (Married) - £35 (5 payments of £7) , Full Time Student/O.A.P. - £10, Family Membership (2 Adults plus 2 Children) - £40 (5 payments of £8), (add £5 for any additional child under 18), U-18's (Boys and Girls) - £5, Social (Single) - £15, Social (Married) - £20 New or lapsed members must reapply. 

In addition to standard Club membership Owen Roe's are offering a membership bolt-on option. The Gold package costs your relevant membership fee plus £75. This entitles you to free Lotto for a year, and free entry to all Owen Roe's home ACL games. The Silver package costs £45 on top of your membership and offers free Lotto for a year only. The advantage of both packages is that it ensures that you never miss a week of playing the Club’s lotto; you do so at a discounted price, and in turn help your local Club. The normal membership can still be purchased but the Gold and Silver packages ensure that you never miss a week of playing Lotto, without the hassle of arranging delivery/collection etc.

Note that your lotto will run from Tuesday 6th March 2012 until Tuesday 26th Feb 2013 (Inclusive).
