                                                                                     THIS WEEK'S NEWS

LADIES FOOTBALL

Training for the Ladies U14 and U16 squads continues every Monday night in Glenmornan Community Hall at 7:15pm sharp. Parents are asked to leave and collect players to and from training. Membership of £3 per player will be collected after training.

YOUTH FOOTBALL

Training continues for the U14 boys' side this Tuesday night with the next fixture on Saturday 29th March when the boys visit Drumragh at 11am.

Training for the Club’s Minor footballers continues this Saturday 15th March at 4:00pm for boys aged 15 and over. Membership of £3 will be collected after training. Parents are asked to leave and collect players to and from training.

Good luck to the Holy Cross Ladies U20 side that has reached the Ulster C Final following Monday’s semi final victory. The provisional date for the game is Friday 21st March. Best wishes to Ellen McGonigle, and Roisin Devine from Owen Roe's who feature in the Holy Cross side.

Commiserations to Marcus McGinley who, despite an excellent personal performance, ended up in the losing Lumen Christi side in Friday’s BT Nolan Cup Final.

Training for the Ladies U14 and U16 squads takes a break this Monday 24th March.

All Minor, U-16 (boys) and U-14 League fixtures are now on the Club website.

ADULT FOOTBALL

Training continues tonight (Thursday) on the pitch at 8:00pm, and on Tuesday nights at 8:00pm. All adult players aged 17 and over are asked to attend. The season commences on Sunday 6th April with Castlederg in Glenmornan.

The draw for the 2008 WJ Dolan Junior Championship was made recently and presented Owen Roe's with a clash against Errigal Ciaran IIIs in round 1. The draw for the rekindled League Cup was also made and we find ourselves in an interesting group with Beragh, Brockagh and neighbours Strabane.

The Division 3 ACL gets underway on Sunday 30th March but both the Reserves and Seniors will have a bye in this first round. They will however get their League started a week later when they host Castlederg in the Glen. All Senior and Reserve League fixtures are now on the Club website.

MEMBERSHIP

There will be another Membership Registration Night in the Clubrooms coming up shortly. All Membership fees can be paid up on the night, from Youth to Adult. All members are asked to make an effort and get their fees paid up for 2008 as soon as possible and this Registration Night will provide a good opportunity to do so and will save the Registrar, Sean Devine, having to contact members regarding their fees. New and lapsed members can also apply for membership on the night or by completing a Membership Form and returning it to Sean. Fees can also be left at the Clubrooms during opening hours. Remember, no Membership means no playing football and no match tickets!!!

This year’s fees are: Full Membership (Single) - £25 (5 payments of £5), Full Membership (Married) - £35 (5 payments of £7), Full Time Student/O.A.P. - £10, Family Membership (2 Adults plus 2 Children) - £40 (5 payments of £8), (add £3 for any additional child under 18), U-18's (Boys and Girls) - £3, Social (Single) - £15, Social (Married) - £20. New or lapsed members must reapply.

In addition to standard Club membership Owen Roe's are offering a membership bolt-on option. The Gold package costs your relevant membership fee plus £75. This entitles you to free Lotto for a year, and free entry to all Owen Roe's home ACL games. The Silver package costs £45 on top of your membership and offers free Lotto for a year only.

The advantage of both packages is that it ensures that you never miss a week of playing the Club’s lotto; you do so at a discounted price, and in turn help your local Club. The normal membership can still be purchased but the Gold and Silver packages ensure that you never miss a week of playing Lotto, without the hassle of arranging delivery/collection etc.

SOCIAL

On Friday night past the Six Towns Players from Draperstown staged their play ‘The Bride Looks a Million’ in the Glenmornan Community Hall. Thanks to everyone who bought and sold tickets for the show, which proved a sell-out. A special thanks to Patsy McGonigle for organising the event.

The Club held a sponsored walk on Sunday past in aid of Club Funds. Thanks to all who undertook the walk, or who sponsored any of those taking part. Thanks to Hughie Kelly who organised the event. However there are reports that vehicles were used to assist some of our senior walkers, but Sean Devine, and Gerry Casey are denying the charges!

The Club rooms will be open on Sunday 23rd March at 1:30pm to show the live soccer.

The Social Club is available to book for Parties, Charity Functions, Christenings, etc, contact Galvin Early (71398398) or Sarah Jane Kelly (71398307) for details.

The Club recently held a charity quiz in aid of Friends of Guiding. Pictured, Club Treasurer Anne Marie Conwell presents the proceeds to Ann Wynn. Also pictured are Ann Marie Mc Menamin who organised the Quiz and Quizmaster Paddy Houston.

DEVELOPMENT

All help from ALL members is now required if we are to realise our ambitions of redeveloping our playing facilities. Hughie Kelly has taken ownership of the Fundraising Committee, please contact him for further details or if you can help out in any way.

Plans of the proposed new development of a training pitch and covered stand at Pairc an Gleanna are now on display in the Clubrooms for anyone who like to come along and view them. The plan is also available on the Club website on the Grounds and Location page (click HERE)

MEMBERS WELLBEING

INTER COUNTY

The Tyrone Senior football side picked up a much-needed win on Saturday evening as they overcame Laois on a 0-16 0-14 scoreline. The next game is a home tie with Donegal on the 29th March.

The county’s hurlers however had less luck as they lost out by two points in Louth, with the Tyrone Ladies earning a draw as they travelled to face Armagh. They now play Armagh again in the League play-off to secure a place in the semi- final on Saturday 22nd March 2008 in Beragh at 1.00pm.

Well done to UUJ featuring Brendan Boggs who overcame Dublin IT in the Sigerson Cup semi final on Saturday. They now await the winners of the other semi final.

The Tyrone County Board are seeking stewards to assist at National League games in Omagh this season. If you feel you can help out, please contact Joe Hegarty ASAP.

GAELIC TELECOM

A new telephone company, Gaelic Telecom, are now in the process of contacting all Club members and local businesses with an offer of their low rate telephone calls. Gaelic Telecom are endorsed by the G.A.A. and they will allow members to donate a percentage of their bills back into the Club’s funds. This is a great opportunity for members to help fundraise for the Club whilst paying your phonebill. For more details log on at www.gaelictelecom.ie
