IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES
Anyone interested in taking part in Irish Language lessons in the Club should contact Joe Hegarty (0771 266 8329) before 9pm next Thursday night. The local branch of Conradh na Gaeilge have kindly offered to run Classes in the Club if there is enough interest. Minimum number for a successful Class would be 15 so if you want to learn Irish and have something to do in the dark evenings ahead then look no further.
Conradh na Gaeilge have also resumed Irish Language classes as follows: Sion Mills (new Parish Hall) every Monday – Primary School Children from 6.30 – 7.30pm; G.C.S.E. Course in partnership with the N.W.I.F.H.E from 7.30 – 8.30; Adult Beginners 8.30 – 9.30; also every Wednesday at the Pobal Office, Sion – Secondary School students 7.30 – 8.30; Adult Classes 8.30 – 9.30; and every Wednesday in the new Hall - A.S. Class from 7.30 – 9.30. Daytime classes for all levels every morning from 10.30 –12 noon at the Pobal Office in Sion. Contact Antaine Ofeargaill 816 59168 (Day) or 816 59801 (evening).
YOUTH NEWS
U-16s - their season came to a disappointing end on Monday night when they were defeated by Derrytresk in the League quarter final. On Thursday night last they were also beaten in their Championship quarter final by Castlederg. Thanks to all the players and especially the management for their hard work during the season.
U-13’S - Training for U-13’s continues every Thursday, at 7pm in the Glen for the next few weeks as the U-13 Feile will be starting on 3rd October.
U-8 and U-10 boys and girls - Training for U-8 and U-10 boys and girls resumes this Friday from 7pm until 8pm at the Club. All parents are asked to leave and collect their children to and from training. If car pools can be arranged from each area it would be most helpful.
An U-8 team will take part in the Strabane Sigerson’s Blitz this Saturdayat 10.30am. More details at training tonight. Last Saturday the Club held a very enjoyable U-8 Inter-Club Blitz with teams from Strabane Sigersons, Urney and Clan na Gael taking part as well as the Roes’ won teams. Thanks to all the visiting players and their mentors, the referees and those who helped out in any way. This Saturday, 11th September, the U-8’s will take part in a Blitz at Strabane Sigersons. Then on Saturday 25th September it is the turn of the U-10’s to travel to Sigersons for their Blitz.
FEILE GEAR - There are still a number of Youth and Adult Owen Roe’s Feile polo shirts left. Contact Ambrose Mc Aleer. There are still some Feile weekend programmes available at the Clubrooms for sale, priced £3 each.
U-14's - The Annual Awards Night for the U-14’s , who were Tyrone Grade 3 Champions and All-Ireland Feile Champions, will be held on Friday week, 17th September with special guests. All members of the U-14 squad, their parents, families and friends are invited to come along. The awards night will start at 8pm sharp in the Clubrooms and refreshments will be served. The Feile videos will be available for purchase also be available
ALL-IRELAND VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS AND 3 ULSTER MINOR TITLES IN 2004 FOR BRENDAN BOGGS -
Well done to Brendan and the Tyrone Minors who beat Down last Saturday in the All-Ireland Minor semi-final. They will now play the winners of the Laois v Kerry semi final, which will be played this Sunday in the All-Ireland Final on Sunday 26th September. Any member wishing to be considered for tickets for the match should contact Sarah Jane Kelly as soon as possible. Remember – membership is not a guarantee of tickets (see Ticket Allocations Guidelines on the Clubs website or on the Club’s noticeboard).
Owen Roe's Brendan has also tasted more success with the Tyrone Vocational Schools team in 2004. Last year he won the Ulster title with the team but this year went one better, not only retaining the title, but also winning the All-Ireland title. He was also part of the Tyrone Minor team who won the Ulster Minor League and Ulster Minor Championship titles in 2004.

G.A.A. MAGAZINES - Apologies to those who bought Team Talk last week expecting to find a feature on the U-14’s All-Ireland Feile success but due to technical difficulties they were unable to proceed with publishing it. Hopefully it will be included in this weekend’s edition.
The latest issue of the Gael Sports Ulster magazine I now on sale and features Owen Roe’s Club player and Tyrone Minor, Brendan Boggs on the front cover and in the feature inside. The new G.A.A. players sticker collection album is now on sale in Kelly’s Shop, Melmount and other local newsagents. The stickers for the album are also on sale at these outlets.
LOTTO - Any Youth team players that would be interested in promoting the Club Lotto in their area please contact Ambrose Mc Aleer (71 397817) as they will receive 10% of sales for their work. (Tuesday was the last Lotto for 3 weeks due to summer holidays. It will resume on Tuesday 17th August).
MATCH TICKET NEWS - Any member requiring tickets for Championship matches not involving Tyrone should contact the Club Secretary, Sarah Jane Kelly, at least 10 days before the fixture. Tickets can also be ordered on-line from Croke Park at www.gaa.ie
Members are reminded of the Ticket Allocation Guidelines available on the Club’s website and noticeboard. Any member requiring tickets for other Championship matches not involving Tyrone teams should contact Sarah Jane Kelly, at least 10 days before the fixture.
CLUB MERCHANDISE - Club tracksuits, shorts and socks are on sale in O’Neill’s Sports Factory. Parents of U-8’s who wish to purchase Club jerseys or tracksuits for their children should contact Sarah Jane Kelly if they out of stock in the O’Neill’s Sports Factory. Club raincoats and polo shirts are available from Ambrose Mc Aleer. Club kitbags are also on sale for Youth and Adults – contact Sarah Jane or Sean Devine.
