O Neills Power Through to Last Four

Owen Roes 5-17 Eskra 0-06

A power start got the young Roes side underway and from that they never looked back. The first point came from the ever surging captain Seamus Dooher, followed closely by one each for Stephen Harper and McShane. All coming from good defending by Doherty. It was then that Eskra struck the ball goal bound but Jamie nicely tipped it over the bar.

Some indiscipline from the Eskra defence led to 2 consecutive penalties, McShane placed it well for the first goal of the night but an excellent save from the goalie denied Cathal the second. Ricki, Seamus and Stephen were running riot in the field and aiding young Michael Dooher in scoring a fine point The half concluded with an unstoppable shot into the goal from Harper and a well-converted penalty by McNulty.

HalfTime - 3-8 to 0-3

It was Eskra who kick started the second half but were denied a goal by Jamie and Kevin. Owen Roes kept the pressure on though and many points were kicked from the boots of McAleer, McShane and McNulty. But the defence take some credit in keeping Eskra at bay, Sean Dooher putting in an excellent performance. Ricki and Charles finished the scoring with Eskra getting a consolation point.

They await the semis now in the next few weeks.
