Drumragh Edged Out in Glenmornan

Owen Roes 2-7 Drumragh 2-6

What is it about these two teams? After serving up a pulsating championship
clash a few weeks back, Drumragh and Owen Roes went toe to toe and repeated
the dose in Glenmornan on Saturday afternoon.

Missing some of the side that were victorious in the championship game, the Sarsfields fell behind to an early Leckpatrick goal, as Cathal McShane burst through and lobbed the
advancing keeper.

The home side dictated much of the play in the first half with Ryan Devine,
Stephen Harper and Kevin Kelly thwarting all the Drumragh offensive moves.
Ryan McAleer was also have a strong game, and he was rewarded with a major
as he clinically drove the ball past the opposing net minder late in the
half.

Leading at the break was no comfort zone for the O'Neills as they had all
to recent memories of their championship defeat. However all credit to
Drumragh who once again worked their way back into the tie, and with five
minutes left struck a second goal to reduce the lead to one. However try as
they might, they could not engineer the leveller that left the home side
victorious by a single score, which almost guarantees them a place in the
league last eight.
