Sean Monteith got the home side up and running with a pair of scores. Barry Porter replied for the O’Neills but Montieth again and Benny McCarney (0-3) kept the Pearses in control. However Owen Roes were in touch at the short whistle as points from Kiernan Kelly, Kevin Moore and Porter put one in it. Fergal McCann added to the Fintona tally, as the home side had total control. Monteith, Niall Mellon, Donnelly, and Ryan McGoldrick added to the visitors gloom as the game ebbed away. Clarke Stephenson came off the bench to hit a late consolation, but two from Donnelly ended the game and signaled a bad day for the O’Neills.
