Mal Gallagher, John Harper and Rory Devine in tandem with a Sean Doherty goal gave the home side a 1-3 to 0-2 half time lead that was build on in the second period.

Fri 25th Aug – Owen Roes 0-7 Tattyreagh 1-5 Reserve knock out
St
Patrick’s Banish Roes’ Reserves
The
Championship ambition of the Owen Roes reserve side faltered at the first hurdle
on Friday evening as they went down in Glenmornan by the narrowest of margins.
The visitors were first on the scoreboard
as they raced into a 0-2 to no score lead, before minor player Mark Kelly sent
over a dead ball after 15 minutes. In a low scoring contest Gerard Kelly added
the Roes second point after 28 minutes, either side of a brace from the Tatts,
to leave to half time scoreline double scores of 0-4 to 0-2.
However
the Green and Red jerseys of Owen Roes sprung into life in the opening minutes
of the second period. Mark Kelly added two to his tally, either side of a Conor
McCay score.
Suddenly
both sides had entered into a fruitful spell of the game. The visitors in Black
raised a Green flag on 36 minutes, followed almost immediately by a follow up
point.
The
game was now finely poised, and keenly contested as Stephen Boyle sprang from
midfield to reduce the deficit. Tattyreagh spurned a glorious opportunity to
kill off the game as their penalty smacked off the crossbar to safety as he
final quarter commenced.
Corner
forward Gerard Kelly replied at the other end to keep the Leckpatrick men within
touching distance. The Owen Roes side were eager to stay in the 2006 series and
John Harper saw his goal effort saved by the visiting net minder.
However
incredibly that was to be that last meaningful action of the game, as Owen Roes
were held scoreless for the contest’s remaining 14 minutes to leave Tattyreagh
victorious on a 1-5 to 0-7 scoreline to repeat the feat of their senior
colleagues earlier in the season.
