Series 1: A young Owen Roes reserve outfit proved no match for a more physical, experienced Eskra side. Eskra came out winners on a 1-16 to 1-4 scoreline. Indeed but for some fantastic saves from Andy Devine the game could've been even more on sided. However to give credit, the Leckptrick side can feel proud of the battling qualities they showed, as they kept fighting for every ball till the full-time whistle.

Series 2: A tight encounter saw Owen Roes reserves pick up their first point of the campaign. In a low scoring game Barry Porter hit 3 of his sides 5 points. Series 3: Owen Roes reserves put on a fantastic display of football against a more experienced Killeeshil side, but found themselves extremely unlucky to emerge on the wrong side of a 1-8 to 0-9 scoreline. The Leckpatrick lads were immense in the first half, with Gerard Kelly (0-2), Stephen Boyle (0-1), Chris Kelly (0-2), and Mal Gallagher (0-2) sending over some great scores.

The 2nd half saw St Marys roar back, and with two points between the sides came the turning point. Goalkeeper Andy Devine picked the ball off the ground outside the small rectangle, which the referee considered a penalty kick. The resulting score deflated the O'Neills lads, and despite a Stephen Kelly score, and a fine point from Kevin Gibbons, there was no way back.

Series 7: Reserve league leaders Greencastle proved their value on Friday as they powered to a commanding victory over the Roes' reserve side. Mickey Dooher hit a goal for the visitors, but it was deemed worthless as the hosts ran out winners 3-12 to 1-2. Aiden Graham with an opportunist strike, and a long range Kevin Gibbons goal supplementing two points from Mal Gallagher saw the Roes lead 2-2 to 0-3 at the break. A good second half display plus two points from sub Sean Foley gave Roes the victory.

Series 12: The reserve footballers of Owen Roes will be wondering how they let this game slip away. A 7 point advantage being whittled away to end up losing by a point. Eskra had 2 men sent off just prior to the break, with Gerard Kelly of Owen Roes also seeing red. In the second half Mickey Kelly (senior) found the net to add to the goal that Barry Porter had collected in the first half.

Final Score: Owen Roes 2-3 Eskra 0-10

Series 13: The Owen Roes second string put in another promising display on Saturday evening at Killeeshil, but again luck wasn't with them as the went down 1-12 to 1-6. The game was a lot closer than the score line suggested. Barry Porter again found the net for the second string, who had Eamon McBride harshly red carded for 2 yellow cards. Tom Mullan also clipped over a fine first half point. Again this young side continues to grow, this is symbolized by youngsters Michael Caldwell and Kevin Gibbons making their senior team debut in the last few weeks.

Final Score: Killeeshil 1-12 Owen Roes 1-6

Series 14: A battling reserve side went down by just 3 points to Aghaloo on Sunday evening. A fantastic result when you consider the 2nd string visitors were only able to field 12 players! Mal Gallagher, Aidan Graham, Tom Mullan, and Barry Porter all found the net. Also finding the net was Sean Doherty, who added several good points to boot.

Final Score: Aghaloo 3-13 Owen Roes 5-4

Series 15: A good defensive performance failed to save Owen Roes reserve side, as they went down 2-8 to 2-2. Again despite the scorline this was a fine performance by this youthful side. Series 17: Again the reserves found themselves severely depleted in this ACL Division 2 reserve tie on the Friday night, and eventually went down 1-10 to 1-3. Highlight of the contest for the Roes was a fantastic goal by Jude Kelly at full forward. With only the keeper to beat, Kelly cheekilly chipped the ball over the advancing stopper. Earlier 'Boomerang' Timoney knocked over two frees, and Sean Foley pointed.

Final Score: Tattyreagh 1-10 Owen Roes 1-3

Series 18: League leaders, and probable Division 2 League winners Greencastle received a hell of a fright before overcoming 2nd from bottom Owen Roes on a 2-4 to 2-14 score line. Hitting form for the O'Neills was Kernan Kelly who knocked in 1-3 of his side's tally.

Final Score: Owen Roe 2-4 Greencastle 2-14

Leckpatrick Reserves Bow Out

The reserve players of Owen Roe O’Neills had their Championship aspirations for 2004 ended on Saturday evening, as they went down 2-11 to 0-9 to Drumquin. However like so many games this season the final score line doesn't really indicate how well the young O’Neills outfit played.

Indeed the visitors started strongest and went in front early on with an Aidan McCrossan free, however with Drumquin dominating the midfield sectors it wasn’t long until the Wolf Tones were ahead. McCrossan however was always a threat from dead balls, with Kiernan Kelly causing trouble to win several. McCrossan had tagged on two more frees to reduce the deficit before Drumquin got a crucial goal that gave them a 1-7 to 0-3 interval advantage. All the same Joe Kelly and young Rory Devine in the full back line were denying many of the Drumquin forays.

The Red and Greens though were fighting hard, unanswered points from McCrossan twice and Mal Gallagher reduced the arrears, prior to the hosts clipping over a couple of their own. Midway through the second period Kelly came close to grabbing a crucial goal for Owen Roes, before the half forward chalked up a point. As the game closed out, Gallagher and Gerard Kelly grabbed scores but only in reply to another few points and the inevitable major for Drumquin.

Owen Roes: Andy Devine, Martin Logue, Joe Kelly, Rory Devine, Danny Barr, Paul Phillips, James McCrossan, Sean Devine, Stephen Kelly, Kiernan Kelly, Mal Gallagher, Barry McCrossan, Gerard Kelly, Aidan Mc Crossan, Aidan Graham Subs: Mickey Kelly, ‘Boomerang’ Timoney, Mickey Moore, Stephen Lynch

Series 19: The reserve footballers of Owen Roe chalked up their first two points in a number of months with a four point winning margin away to Clogher. Kiernan Kelly was on hand to notch one of the goals, with Donal Cairns also finding the net as the red and greens delivered a morale boosting result.

Final Score: Clogher 0-10 Owen Roes 2-8

Series 20: Fresh from a reserve Championship final defeat, Drumquin were the visitors to the Glen and left with the points after a narrow 0-9 to 0-8 victory. This was another battling display by the reserves who probably should've won the game, as several goal chances went begging in the last 10 minutes. Sean McBride and Gerard Kelly provided the main scoring threat for the O'Neills, with Boomerang, Steven Lynch and Rory Devine also pointing.

Final Score: Owen Roe 0-8 Drumquin 0-9

Owen Roe: Andy Devine, Aidan Graham, Joe Kelly, Mickey Kelly, Danny Barr, Rory Devine (0-1), Martin Logue, Sean McBride (0-3), Stephen Kelly, Mark O'Neill, Barry McCrossan, Boomerang Timoney (0-1), Steven Lynch (0-1), Donal Cairns, Gerard Kelly (0-2)

Series 21: The Owen Roe reserve side picked up two points on Saturday, when Rock notified the club days earlier to state that they could not field.
