Newton too strong for Leckpatrick

The opening game of the 2008 minor season ended in defeat for the footballers of Owen Roes. Despite a slender half time advantage, the visitors could not capitalize on this and paid the price. A first half goal by Paul Devine had given the Red and Greens a solid platform which they held to the short whistle. In the second half Conor Friel found the goal, but it was too little, too late and Newtown took the spoils.
