Pairc An Ghleanna
Where are we
The Owen Roe O'Neill, Leckpatrick GAA Club is located in the North of County Tyrone in Glenmornan. The Club grounds, Pairc na Gleanna are situated approx 6 miles east from the town of Strabane, and 3 miles from the villages of Dunamanagh and Artigarvan.
If you are coming from Omagh/Lifford follow the Strabane by-pass using signs for Derry. Just as you come to the northern limits of the town, you will see a sign for Dunamanagh and Artigarvan. Turn right at this sign. Follow this road into the village of Artigarvan. Here you will see a small supermarket on your right at a cross roads as you enter the village. Take the right turn at this shop and crossroads. About half a mile up this road you will come to another crossroads. The "main" road turns to the left, follow this. Travel up this road for another 3 miles until you come to the Chapel in Glenmornan (on your left). The Owen Roe's Club is just shortly after this, again on your left.
The Leckpatrick parish covers the villages of Ballymagorry, Artigarvan and Burndennet, as well as the town lands of Hollyhill, Silverhill, Glenmornan, Cloghcor, Ballee, Dysert, and so on, up as far as Moorlough in the east. The Club's boundary also covers the northern edges of the town of Strabane, taking in the Derry Road, Park Road/Railway Road area as well as parts of the Patrick St, Newton Street and Curley Hill areas.
Over the past number of years the Club's Committee has embarked on several fundraising initiatives to help develop the Club's playing and training facilities. These initiatives are now starting to come to fruition. Recently the Club had enough funds to purchase a piece of ground to the north of the current playing field to develop into a much needed training field. This, along with resurfacing the current pitch, providing a covered stand and extending the current Clubrooms are all hopefully going to get started in the very near future.
For a more detailed plan of the proposed development, see the plans currently on display in the Clubrooms.
