Owen Roes Primary School Blitz 2004
Owen Roes hosted their annual primary school blitz on Saturday 12th June in front of a good crowds of parents, relatives and friends. 80 children took part in the mini- festival of football, with the 3 local schools being represented. After a morning of entertaining football Dublin, and Cork emerged as group winners. The final was a tight affair, before the Dubs managed by Declan Bradley emerged victors.
Club chairman Sean Devine thanked Johnny Kelly of the Fir Tree's Hotel for once again sponsoring the event. Thanks was also extended to all the parents and supporters who turned up to offer support for the competition, to the managers and mentors who helped the children, and to the club's two referees Mal McDaid and Aiden Graham for refereeing the festival.
Thanks was also extended to Gerard Kelly, the Leckpatrick club's youth officer, and to all the club coaches who give up their time to coach children from U-8 through to U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, Minor and adult football.
All was left was for Sean to hand over to Tyrone and Owen Roes player Declan McCrossan who made presentations to all the players who took part.
